Special Process Suppliers
Supplier Quality Requirements for Special Processes.
A Special Process is defined as a process where the resulting output cannot be verified by subsequent monitoring or measurement, and includes any processes where deficiencies become apparent only after the product is in use or the service has been delivered. Each Special Process applicable to the PO is called out as a separate Quality Code on the PO. When imposed by the PO suppliers must use L3Harris-BCS approved special process suppliers from the listing linked below.Note: Special Processes currently include, but may not be limited to, Chemical Processing, Heat Treating, Soldering, Welding, Composites, Gasketing, Coatings, Non-Destructive Testing, Material Testing Laboratories, and Non-Conventional Machining and Surface Enhancements. See listing below. A supplier identified as COMMERCIAL has been approved to perform special processes on incoming materials from any manufacturing facility. A supplier identified as NOT COMMERCIAL is only approved to perform special processes to support their own in-house production operations.
